Sons of Norway Vennelag 513 will meet at the Mount Horeb Community Center on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m.
Peggy Hager, University of Wisconsin professor of Scandinavian Studies will present an informative program on the 200th Celebration of the Norwegian Constitution.
Attendees are encouraged to wear bunads or other Norwegian finery.
The public is welcome to attend.
Kaffe Stue July 2014
If you hanker for some good Norwegian food, come to the Community Center where Sons of Norway Vennelag Lodge 513 hosts our 42nd Annual Kaffe Stue on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
You can sample genuine foods of the old country, such as lefse, rommegrot, sandbakkle, smorbrod, sotsuppe and more. Once again we will offer our popular Troll Roll sandwiches.
Høst Frokost 2014
Sons of Norway Vennelag 513 will have our 12th annual Frokost, or Norwegian Fall Breakfast on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 7:30 am to 11:00 am. Held at the Mount Horeb Community Center, open to the general public.
The event, held in conjunction with the Mount Horeb Fall Festival, gives us the opportunity to share Norwegian culture and heritage with friends and neighbors. The menu can consist of such items as Norwegian pancakes, heart waffles with lingonberries, aebleskiver, soft or hard-boiled eggs, rollepolse, lefse, breads, ham, dried beef, salami, cheeses, herring, smoked salmon, fruit salad, coffee, and Norwegian cookies and cakes.
Watch for the trolls guarding Main Street as you make your way to the Community Center.
